Sometimes you find a product that is a game-changer and you have to share it with your whole mom village. Ruggagle has been that for me. These runners and rugs have replaced all of the sh*tty ones I used to buy on a regular rotation at Target or Home Goods. Those never lasted more than a few months and became dog runners in the mudroom on a stop-over to the trash. Since I replaced them with Ruggable, I’ve been washing them monthly and putting them back where they belong— in the hallway, kitchen and living area for humans to use and appreciate.
I first got Ruggable last year when I discovered the Jonathan Adler collection. The two plush, navy blue runners matched in my hallway and kitchen (in an apartment, those are adjoined). They looked good! My daughter asked if it was ok she put her shoes on them. The dog (didn’t ask) made herself right at home on them as she followed me from room to room (you know those doodles are clingy). They felt so much nicer to stand on than the paper-thin ones, and were very vibrant versus being ugly neutrals whose sole purpose was to protect the floor. I still wondered, though, how would they wash? After all, that’s their big selling point.
Needless to say it only took about a week before my daughter mashed raspberries on the kitchen runner. Not long after, I dropped my whole French Press— coffee grinds spilling all over the rug. Great, I thought, these won’t last long either. But surprisingly, the coffee only left a shadow and the berries mostly came up with a warm cloth. I had to look at the spot each day thinking “wasn’t there a mash of berries there a few days ago”? Not letting my OCD get the best of me, I was waiting patiently for a real wash in the laundry… but then my messy family put them to the true test. Dog throw up. On the new rug.

I’ll spare you the throw up, but here is the berry mash and coffee drop. Luckily laundry was available!

Their TikTok video ‘how to wash your Ruggable‘ made it easy!
3 Steps to wash your Ruggable:
- Remove the soiled Rug Cover from the Rug Pad and put it in the washer with the design side facing out (runners don’t have two parts)
- Machine-wash the Rug Cover in cold water on a delicate cycle using a mild, non-bleach detergent
- Hang-dry or tumble-dry on low
I hang dry most things anyway so I hung these to dry overnight. They literally looked BRAND new. Of course the dog is right back on them.
Favorite Ruggable Rugs
After the dog throw-up fiasco followed by the easy clean-up, I was hooked. As a mom, it felt so good to buy products that I didn’t plan on throwing away seasonally. I added a Ruggable to the bedroom and to the office. I went with the Anthropologie and Liberty collabs for those. Check out my Ruggable favorites here.
